I have always had a child inside,
It has hidden somewhere deep.
For many years I held back thoughts,
Afraid that I should speak.
The adult in me played each day,
Though childish games held fast.
All the while I’m looking back,
Dreaming of the past.
Being like a grown up,
It’s important that I do.
But being a child with hopes and dreams,
That’s important too.
I step back from the world I’m in,
I see with different eyes,
I dream the dreams that dreamers do,
Staring into deep blue skies.
I use my words to touch the hearts,
As I move here and there.
Spreading love and joy around,
I guess that I just care.
So if you want the adult,
Then don’t climb here today.
The child is here the adult’s gone,
And won’t be back again.
Some may choose to judge me,
Then they don’t know how I’m wired.
They just don’t have the child inside,
Or friends to be inspired.
My gifts to you are these few words,
And from them you can hide.
But I dare you to be just like me,
And find the child inside.
COME PLAY WITH ME. ❤
